While TikTok will automatically delete stories after 24 hours, sometimes you need to get rid of them sooner. Thankfully, this process is pretty simple, and is very similar to deleting a TikTok video.[1] Keep reading this article to learn how to delete your TikTok story.

Quick Steps

  1. Open your TikTok profile.
  2. Tap on your profile picture to bring up your story.
  3. Tap the arrow button in the bottom-right corner.
  4. Tap the Delete button (and tap Delete again to confirm).

  2. It's in the bottom-right corner of the screen, and will pull up a pop-up menu from the bottom of the screen with sharing and other options.
  3. It's the trash can icon located in the bottom row. A pop-up will appear asking if you really want to delete your story; click Delete to finish the deletion process.
    • After you delete the story, it will be gone forever, and no one else will be able to view it.
    • If you have multiple stories up, you can repeat the instructions to delete them if you'd like to.
