Most current smartphone operating systems have QR code scanners built into the camera app, so you just would have to point the camera at the QR code and let the phone scan it. If your camera doesn't do this automatically, you may need to either update your phone or download an app.

How do I scan the QR code when I only use my phone and the QR code is on my screen? When I open my camera app, the QR code disappears. I've tried taking a screenshot as well, which didn't work.

If you can't get another copy of the QR code to put in front of your camera (such as a printout or another screen), take a screenshot and then open something like Google Lens. There you can import an image. You will then be shown the contents of the QR code.
